Shhh. . . don't tell the boys I am posting on their blog. They are at school right now, and I thought I would take a moment to talk to you.
Thanks to APN, the boys might become a bit popular. I want everyone to know that I moderate the comments, harshly. These are my boys ya know.
They do not see comments until I have. You will find no contact info for them. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me.
Now the reason I am allowing wee ones to blog. Besides the fact that they have been badgering me for well over a month about it, summer is upon us here in the Heartland. School ends tomorrow and because of the move, they will not be seeing any friends for who knows how long. They need a way to vent or just jabber.
Also this is part of our home schooling activities. They will learn typing and spelling, grammar and letter writing. They will have computer skills (as I have given them full access to our flickr account) and coding lessons. They will learn social nuisances of the world wide web, and hopefully a little cultural exchange.
They decided to call themselves The Wilder Boys based on the Little House on the Prairie books, doesn't matter to them if there were only 2 Wilder Boys, someone has to be Eliza. Wonder which one it will be.
Be nice, play well, and don't make me come back there.

... and yes you can blame Tom for it too. ;)
Actually, there was 3 Wilder boys. :) The last one was born when Almanzo was about 10? or 15? Laura just took some liberties in the story.

ReplyDeleteIt's good you're teaching the young ones yourself. Tell the boys hi and to keep on blogging.
ReplyDeleteWay to go Mom. Sounds like you have a head on your shoulders, that means your kids will also. One note though. As they get older, let them read some of the negatives that are posted (within reason.) They need to also learn the net isn't always a great place. It would be best to learn that while still under your guidance. Well done.

It isn't so much the negative stuff as it is the perverts I wish to keep away. As they get older I will allow a bit more freedom, but for now I would like to keep things decent for them. Constructive criticisms are ok, as long as it is age appropriate.

Looks like you've done a good job with the boys and the farm! Take care of those little goats, too much dog food will kill 'em.
ReplyDeleteWith homeschool aspirations myself I think this is a great idea, especially for their age range. I have a niece and nephew that are homeschooled and I might mention it to their mom to see if she'd like to do one for them also. I think they would really enjoy it.
ReplyDeletePlease let me know f they do decide to do this, as it would be nice to have a blogroll that they boys could read.
